Dicenda

Lovaun and I had been out all day. It was 75 degrees, and that was perfect weather for Seattle. I didn’t mind picking out new stuff to decorate the foyer, but I honestly didn’t know why he wanted to change it. He took me to Macy’s to pick out patterns and colors. Next, we picked out picture frames and canvases. I walked over to one that was a painting of a woman. She was standing in front of two roads. They both had the same yellow stitching in the road, and both had beautiful green, healthy grass on the side. Both sides looked to be the same. Why would someone ever stress on which to trail. Instantly, I felt like it related to me in a way.

Interrupting my thoughts, Lovaun picked it up. “Yeah, so, it looks like we are getting this one.”

“Oh no, honey. We don’t have to. I was just looking at it.”

He signaled for the salesman to come over to us. He gave him the painting and told him to wrap it up.

“Well, we have been in this section for more than thirty minutes and this is the first one you stopped and looked at for more than a second. No buts, we are getting this.”

He took my hand and kissed me on the forehead. “Come on I have an errand to run on the other side of the mall. I want to go to Nordstrom’s and get some button ups.”

As I walked with him to Nordstrom’s, I smiled and laid my head on his shoulder. I squeezed his hand, and his eyes got big as we entered the center part of the mall. This part of the mall was always packed with people and kids running around. This is the part I liked. You never knew who you were going to see.

“I completely forgot to tell you, Jason asked one of his baby's moms to marry him. I think you met this one that one time in the parking lot of Walgreens. Her names, Cynthia”

Shocked I frowned, “really?”

“I know it's unbelievable, right? Yeah, he called me up and told me. He said he was tired of chasing tail, when he could have it guaranteed when he got home.”

“Yeah, that sounds like Jason.”

From the corner of my eye, I saw a girl wave to me. As we approached closer and closer, I realized it was Chavelle. She looked cute, wearing a red tight fitted sweater, black knee-high suede boots, and light blue denims. Her smile was bright like usual.

“Hey, what are you guys doing here?” She gave her brother a hug and did the same to me.

“Lovaun wants to redecorate the foyer so here we are.”

With a confused look, she frowned at Lovaun. “Again? You just did all that decorating a couple months ago.”

“I know, don’t ask me. He’s the one who wants to. But anyway, what are you doing? I saw you coming out of K Jewelers. You getting that bracelet fixed?”

“Yea, girl. I loved that bracelet too much to chalk it up as a loss.
